3D Monitoring of Toothbrushing Regions and Force Using Multimodal Sensors and Unity

The goal of this study is to help people monitor brushing process maintain their oral quality by providing real-time feedback. In research, a low-cost toothbrushing monitoring system regions and force using multimodal sensors Unity proposed for monitoring. An inertial sensor attached the handle toothbrush Random Forester Classifier (RFC) model were used estimate regions; five clipped on Forest Regression (RFR) force; visual interface based was designed display detection results in real-time. For region detection, show that offline verification accuracy 97.6%, average online method 74.0%. 5 subjects invited participate experiment both User Dependent (UD) Independent (UI). Root Mean Squared Error (RMSE) 22.08g UD experiment; RMSE 37.06g UI experiment. 3D system, 20 usability research has good usability, performance, user satisfaction.
